The day threatened rain with heavy cloud dragging it's way across the sky for most of the afternoon. By the way, did I mention that I'm a frustrated author?
Seriously, it was a shame that we had to sit under cover but that didn't
dampen the enthusiasm to have a great day.
Roy and his helpers served up roast chicken, roast potato and salad, followed by icecream and jelly to nearly 70 very chatty, noisy members. But it's what it's all about isn't it? (Phew! preposition overload!). The picnic is free to our members as a Thank You for all their support during the year. And by this we mean attending meetings, supporting our fundraising raffles, supporting our trips, volunteering help when needed and generally being involved. We really do have a great club.
