After much messing about by Ansel Golf Club, we had to settle on having a "Not a Xmas in July" completed with no Xmas lunch, but a one course luncheon with entertainment. Poor Win was tearing her hair out at the mismanagement and contridictions given by management and staff at Ansel, however, the entertainment turned out to be Wendy Stapleton...
What can you say...she was absolutely fabulous. Her show is based on the song mad famous by Doris Day and Dusty Springfield. But Wendy's voice, wow! Every note a gem. And she had the room memorized as she sang song after song. In the end Wendy had to stop because our lunch was ready to be served. Personally, and I think most of the room felt the same, we could have sat there all afternoon listening to her. Thank you Wendy.
Have to say that the meal left lots to be desired. Ansel would be well advised to engage a good chief as well as a competent manager.
